Everything you type or save is kept on your device, in the app’s own storage (in your browser’s storage on the website). We cannot see it.

When you scan a strip, the camera photo is read on your phone: the app finds the pads and the bottle’s chart and matches the colors there. The photo is not uploaded anywhere and is not added to your photo library. The app saves the reading, not the photo — the picture sits only in the phone’s temporary files, which the phone clears by itself.

The app asks for the camera only to take that photo, and for your photos only when you choose “Use a photo” — and then it sees only the photo you pick.

Anonymous usage events, so we can tell which features help people and where they get stuck: the name of the event (for example “setup finished” or “scan read”), when it happened, a few details about it (for example which kind of strip, or whether a photo was too dark), the app version and whether it is the iPhone app or the website, and a random install number made on your phone. The install number is not linked to your name, your email, your Apple Account or any advertising identifier.

What you choose to send with “Was this right? Tell us”: the reading or dose you flag, your note, and — only if you type it — an email address so we can answer you. A report with an email address is sent without the install number, so it can never be joined to the usage counts.

We do not receive your name, contacts, location, photos or anything you type about your pool. We do not store the internet address your phone connects from with any of it.

Apple takes the payment; we never see your card or your Apple Account details. We use RevenueCat, a subscription service, to confirm that a purchase is valid: it receives the purchase details Apple provides and a random app user number (no name, no email). Reminders are scheduled on your phone by your phone. Nothing about them is sent to us.

Anonymous usage events are deleted after 24 months. Messages you send us are deleted within 24 months of the last reply.

Turn off Settings › Share anonymous usage and the app sends no more usage events (the ones waiting on your phone are deleted too). Deleting the app deletes everything it saved on your phone.

To have a message you sent deleted, write to us through the Help page and tell us roughly when you sent it.

The app is made for adults who look after a pool or hot tub. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect anything from them.

If this policy changes, the new version is posted here with a new date. We will never start using data in a new way without saying so here first.
