Terms of use

Updated 2026-10-19.

Using DipDose

These terms cover the DipDose app and the website dipdose.com. By using either, you agree to them.

The label always wins

Doses are worked out from your readings, your pool or hot tub’s size and the products you say you own. Always read and follow the label of the chemical you use: if the label and the app disagree, follow the label.
Add chemicals one at a time, test again before adding more, and store them out of reach of children.

Not a professional

DipDose does not replace a pool professional. If the water looks unsafe, or someone feels unwell after swimming, stay out of the water and ask an expert.

Pro subscriptions

Pro is bought through the App Store on iPhone (and Google Play on Android, once it is there). The store takes the payment and handles renewals, cancellations and refunds under its own rules; you can cancel at any time in your store account, and you keep Pro until the end of the period you paid for.
On iPhone, Pro is also covered by Apple’s standard licence agreement: https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/

Using the website

You may use, link to and share any page. Do not copy the website or the app wholesale, or load the website by automated means faster than a person would.

No warranty

DipDose is provided as it is, without warranty. Test strips, phone cameras and light vary, and a reading can be wrong. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for damage to a pool, a hot tub, equipment or property, or for injury, that comes from using it.

Privacy

What the app keeps and the little it sends are explained on the Privacy page.
