Pool salt is plain sodium chloride, so the arithmetic is simple: raising 10,000 gallons by 100 ppm takes about 8.3 lb of salt. We multiply that out for your pool.
Salt only leaves when water does — splashing, backwashing, rain overflow — so a salt pool needs a top-up now and then, not every week.
The product label always wins — if it says something different, follow the label.
What salt level does my pool need?
Most salt cells want between 2,700 and 3,400 ppm, often 3,200. Your cell's manual (or the label on the cell) has the exact number — use that as the target.
